1 :: video/action for New Bark + Route 29
What are you following me around for?
[The muffled voice is that of a young boy; about eleven years old, by the pitch, sounding tired and confused. It's followed by a Bagon's babble, then a sigh.]
Never mind.
[There's a clatter, then the 'Gear's audio abruptly clears, as though the mic were moved away from an obstruction. The video clears, too, showing a view of trees and sky and grass on Route 29. A few seconds of silence.]
You shouldn't make a mess of things. [rustle.] What's in there, anyways...? [rustle clunk scrape clatter.] Are these clothes? [thump.] I think this is food- [The Bagon babbles loudly, and the boy yelps, and the 'Gear flips over twice. The video now shows the Bagon running around, Mom's bento lunch in hand, biting the box determinedly. The boy is standing up, watching helplessly.]
Wait, don't take that! It's not yours, it - oof-! [He takes two unsteady steps, leans forward, and falls over. The Bagon hops up onto his back and sits down on top of him, still chewing away on the box.] Let me up..!
[action]
[Before that elegant scene takes place, a purple-haired kid in Youngster garb can be found in New Bark, stumbling his way out of town and falling over every twenty seconds or so. The Bagon orbiting his feet appears to be offering him moral support...or maybe it's just yelling at him. He looks pretty determined to get out to Route 29, scraped knees be damned.]

Why do they look so diff-URF! [Bagon puts down the lunch box and makes a flying leap onto Dorumon's head, pushing his face into the dirt, to get a look at the Pokegear. He points and babbles at the Seel in the video, prompting some muffled noises from Dorumon.]

[Phil is more than happy to chat with the Bagon, but Jack figures he should probably help the kid out at some point. Or at least try. He pats Phil's side, waving at the screen when Phil goes quiet.]
Hey, little guy. I think your trainer probably needs to breathe right about now. You wanna let him up?
no subject
If you keep doing things like that, I won't let you follow me. [Bagon harrumphs and puffs out its chest, maybe sensing the empty threat.]
So why is he here with me?
no subject
If he stops jumping on your head, he can help keep you safe. Probably.
no subject
He can deal with that.]
...That's right. I can't fight well if I'm like this. [Speaking of which, he's going to try working his way back up to standing now.]
no subject
[Unfortunately, he doesn't really have any advice as far as standing or walking. Losing his powers didn't change his ability to do that, unlike some people.] Keep trying. You'll get it eventually.
no subject
He'll keep trying until he can walk. He doesn't have any other choice, after all - he has to walk to advance, and he has to advance to eat, and...the point is, he needs to walk, so he'll walk, one way or another. Even if his knees protest.]
So... [He looks back at Bagon.] ...you're here to protect me. [Bagon waves its arms and shouts.] Then what am I here for? [It shrugs.]
