1 :: video/action for New Bark + Route 29
What are you following me around for?
[The muffled voice is that of a young boy; about eleven years old, by the pitch, sounding tired and confused. It's followed by a Bagon's babble, then a sigh.]
Never mind.
[There's a clatter, then the 'Gear's audio abruptly clears, as though the mic were moved away from an obstruction. The video clears, too, showing a view of trees and sky and grass on Route 29. A few seconds of silence.]
You shouldn't make a mess of things. [rustle.] What's in there, anyways...? [rustle clunk scrape clatter.] Are these clothes? [thump.] I think this is food- [The Bagon babbles loudly, and the boy yelps, and the 'Gear flips over twice. The video now shows the Bagon running around, Mom's bento lunch in hand, biting the box determinedly. The boy is standing up, watching helplessly.]
Wait, don't take that! It's not yours, it - oof-! [He takes two unsteady steps, leans forward, and falls over. The Bagon hops up onto his back and sits down on top of him, still chewing away on the box.] Let me up..!
[action]
[Before that elegant scene takes place, a purple-haired kid in Youngster garb can be found in New Bark, stumbling his way out of town and falling over every twenty seconds or so. The Bagon orbiting his feet appears to be offering him moral support...or maybe it's just yelling at him. He looks pretty determined to get out to Route 29, scraped knees be damned.]

[Bagon's jaws snap back open, and now Dorumon winces as he pulls his hand away. It's bleeding, and he stares in confusion at the blood for a moment before looking back up at the little dragon.]
How does that work?
[audio]
[Pause.]
You should have other clothes in your backpack. There's no pokemon center in New Bark Town, so you might need to make your own bandage, if that bite's bad enough.
[audio]
Dorumon nods distractedly and looks back down at his hand. He carefully touches the bite with the fingers of his other hand, making a curious noise when they come away red.]

[Not that Hiccup would blame him, if that were the case. After Rude-bro had bit him that time, he hadn't been in quite the right mindset, either.
Oh, and the whole "you're in another world thing". You know. That was kind of weird, too, he guessed.]
no subject
What is this? [He holds up his blood-spotted fingers.]
no subject
You've...never seen blood before? [Hmmn.] It's this stuff in our bodies. Basically, you want to keep it in your body, because losing too much is really bad for you.
[And now, because he's...got a feeling.]
You weren't human before now, were you? This place changed you.
no subject
He shakes his head.] Were you?
no subject
I was--well, I still am--but my best bud wasn't. Not that he's here, anymore.
no subject
Bagon appears, offering the shreds of what used to be Dorumon's hat. Well, that works. He didn't really get what that was for, anyways.]
Oh. [This is where you say-] I'm sorry. That he's not here.
no subject
It's fine. I don't think he liked being human, much, really. He wasn't able to fly and he had problems with his teeth. How are you adjusting, so far?

[He's trying to imagine Dorumon based on the little info he knows about him. Spoilers, it looks nothing like Dorumon.]
If you can get to a stand, it might be easier to move by sliding your feet on the ground. Then you won't have to lift them until you're sure you won't lose your balance. Is there a big stick anywhere near you?
no subject
Um...
[...w-whatever. He scoots back towards a tree and uses it to get back on his feet. Standing, at least, he can manage without too much difficulty.]
It's going to take a while. [He doesn't have any false impressions on that front.]
no subject
Yeah, sorry... It'll get easier though, after a while. Once you're confident enough, you can practice walking. Just take it easy, and you'll get the hang of it.
no subject
I just have to get to the city. [Then there'll be food, and he can orient himself.]
no subject
[Not that he did much traveling when he first arrived in Johto. Whoops.]
I'm Hiccup, by the way. What's your name?
no subject
I'm Dorumon.
no subject
Nice to meet you, then, Dorumon. And don't worry, you'll get used to this place soon enough.
