Age: ...Young child. Sort of. The Digital World is really abstract and Dorumon has been through all of his stages of maturity/growth and turned into a "young" Digimon again, but there's no good number equivalent.
AU/PG/CANON/OC: Canon
Summary:
Oh god this is going to be a mess and I apologize for everything that Digimon X-Evolution is. The history is absolutely inane unless you already know the lore behind it because it was written for people who read the story in the V-pet manuals or watch it way too many times, so I'm going to include a little bit of context in smalltext.
Dorumon is a pretty simple Digimon, at his core. He's driven by fairly normal desires - comfort, companionship, purpose, and above all survival - and he's had a hell of a time trying to fulfill those desires during his life so far. He comes from an abstract and largely anarchic world, and his life has been consumed by weird, dramatic plot shit revolving around the fact that he is alive when "divine" decree says he should be erased from existence. He has lived the life of an outcast, and doesn't remember much of the time before he was an outcast, if such a time ever even existed. Dorumon went from fleeing the collapsing old world to wandering aimless and friendless in the new one - he's certainly no stranger to hardship or loneliness, even if his context for it is leagues removed from what organic creatures typically have to deal with.
The major point of X-Evolution and of Dorumon's character was that living beings naturally want to keep on living, and that's okay, and life is precious, and it should be aided and passed on whenever possible. Life is a treasure, and that's the philosophy that's kept Dorumon going all this time, through the loneliness and then through the fighting and the destruction and all the way to the chamber of the god of the Digital World. Dorumon hates death, and he hates senseless killing even more. No matter how many times he sees someone die before him, he's still horrified by it in every single instance. The power of the will to live is what Dorumon holds closest to his heart, and he refuses to hurt others unless it's absolutely necessary or kill in any circumstance.
Dorumon's behavior and attitude is generally pretty mellow and reticent, with moments of temper. He's got a rough side, and won't hesitate to return mocking or threats with aggression, and will fight fiercely to protect himself or prevent senseless destruction, but he responds to most situations with wary curiosity and interest. He's quiet, not used to having anyone to talk with, but enjoys companionship even though he's not very good at holding a conversation - in fact, because he's had so few friends, he values friendships even more. As his default, Child form Dorumon, he has the demeanor of a reserved child.
...He's not exactly a child, though. Digimon do change in personality somewhat when they evolve, and some evolutions produce more changes than others; as Dorumon progresses up his evolution line, he gains confidence in himself, and the greatest change comes when he assumes the form of the Royal Knight Alphamon. In this form he is brave, confident, still reserved, but emotionally secure and no longer aimless - he takes his belief in the value of life and turns it into a warrior's motivation, raising a legendary blade to defend all life in the Digital World. It's safe to assume that this portion of Dorumon's latent personality has stayed with him to some extent after he reverts to his Child form, Alphamon's conviction supporting him under Dorumon's quiet, hesitant demeanor.
By the end of the movie, he's much better-adjusted than the lonely, purposeless child with self-worth and identity issues that he was at the beginning. He has comrades, he has a young Digimon to take care of, and he knows what he is and what he's accomplished. He's not the paragon of psychological health - that the world is fixed doesn't erase all the things that he experienced - but he has a decent amount of internal strength to fall back on if the world were ever to crumble around him again. Dorumon's self-worth hinges on being good for others, and so long as he believes he is not the cause of misfortune, he'll cling to life in honor of those who couldn't.
Gem Considerations: ...Okay, so, Dorumon's gem will go on his back right above where his wings sit, and the gem I'd like for him is specifically this one, but called "magnetite" because "healer's gold" is a terrible Gem name.
First shallow reason is that the gold and black matches Alphamon's colors - where the black is in dominance, so magnetite would be in dominance in Doru's gem and give it its name.
The less-shallow reason for wanting the mixture and not just pure magnetite is that in greater Digimon lore, there's a character called Ryudamon that's sort of a twin to Dorumon, and Alphamon's final form (Alphamon Ouryuken) is the result of Ryudamon (whose signature color is gold) turning into a sword to be wielded by Dorumon and also giving him spiffy golden wings.
Ryudamon doesn't exist in the canon of X-Evolution, but Alphamon does manifest the Ouryuken and wings at the end of the movie. So having the flecks of gold pyrite in a black gem called "magnetite" wouldn't actually mean anything in-game but it'd be a cute nod to franchise lore and also color-coordinate with Alphamon and the Ouryuken.
As far as gem meanings/effects go, I also like the symbolism of healer's gold as opposed to pure magnetite or pyrite; magnetite fits very well with the whole Digimon thing because it relates to electricity and pyrite is a stone of earth/fire/action/confidence/vitality that, as flecks in the whole, represents the latent strength in Dorumon that is revealed when he evolves (or, here, uses his powers...I guess?) Healer's gold in itself is also, as the name implies, a stone of healing and especially one that "heals healers", which fits with Dorumon's whole thing about "living to pass on life" and being motivated to value himself because of what he can do for others. It's commonly listed as helping people to be more decisive and to take action, which reflects a character arc I'd like to pursue with Dorumon; in canon he is rather passive as a result of being alone all his life and caught up in crazy plot bullshit, and with more friends (and after having experienced being Alphamon) he could grow to be more active in his desire to help people and could discover more about what he's like when he's not just struggling to survive.
Power considerations:
List Three Powers You Would Like Your Character To Have:
I'm pretty sure Dorumon's only ability before evolution is spitting exploding cannonballs at things and he doesn't use it too often so in the short-term he won't be too bothered by the powercap.
In the long term, the powercap in Cosmo would take away one of the more signature aspects of being a Digimon - the experience of evolution. Though it doesn't (always) involve a second participant, it's similar to gem fusion in what it means for the concept of identity - as Dorumon evolves, his name and personality and even his knowledge and memories shift, and he both is and isn't the same person he was before evolving. He was Alphamon, and had the awareness of the reality of the Digital World that Alphamon had, but still thinks of Alphamon as a third-person entity.
Not all Digimon evolve - generally, most make it to the Child and Adult stages as a process of aging, and evolution beyond that is a transcendent experience that only some Digimon achieve - so it's not an everyday experience that's being stripped from Dorumon. But it will be a strange experience for him to gain power without evolution, or to experience situations of particularly high stress without evolving as a result.
He's also going to miss the days when he could just puke cannonballs at enemies and not have to get up close and personal.
He also also is going to have to get used to needing to train his powers because a lot of things about being a Digimon are hard-coded and innate and using powers has always been one of them for him.
All in all he'll take being a gem pretty well I think. As a Digimon, he's already used to the can-live-without-your-body thing (the Digicore is the center of their being, Digimon can come back under certain circumstances, FOR A MOVIE ABOUT FEAR OF DEATH THERE SURE ARE A LOT OF RANDOM RESURRECTIONS IN XEVO), and to having a body that's more of a...vehicle for doing things than a flesh and blood entity. Fusion is a familiar concept (lol Jogress Evolution), and being able to help people is always a plus.

The history is absolutely inane unless you already know the lore behind it because it was written for people who read the story in the V-pet manuals or watch it way too many times, so I'm going to include a little bit of context in smalltext.
- At some point, Dorumon came into being, as Digimon do, just kind of plopped down by the workings of the Digital World. Not long after, the population of the Digital World began to exceed what its master computer Yggdrasil could handle, and Yggdrasil decided to destroy it and evacuate a small portion of the Digimon population to a new Digital World which could be more closely managed. Yggdrasil accomplished this by unleashing the X-Program to exterminate swathes of the population after evacuating its chosen few; however, some Digimon mutated the X-Antibody, which spared them from the virus, made them stronger, and would allow them to escape to the new world without Yggdrasil's approval. As the old world fell apart, the Digimon fell into chaos, violence breaking out as susceptible Digimon tried to kill X-Antibody holders to absorb their antibodies. Near the end of the old world, Dorumon was hunted down and cornered by a desperate Leomon who wanted to kill him for his X-Antibody. However, Leomon relented at the last moment, apologizing for being so cruel and imploring him to live on in his stead. Dorumon wails as Leomon dies, baffled and terrified by the event.
- In the new world, Dorumon (along with other X-Antibody holders) is rejected by the "chosen" Digimon, who are not aware of the full nature of Yggdrasil's plan and believe X-Digimon to be selfish and destructive and the cause of calamities in the new world. For much of his early life, Dorumon is alone, and feels that he should not be alive because he is useful to no one.
- Dorumon encounters the injured Wargreymon, a rebel calling for peace between "chosen" and X-Digimon and the cessation of Yggdrasil's campaign against the surviving X-Digimon. WGmon is being pursued by one of Yggdrasil's Royal Knights, and gives the baby Tokomon to Dorumon to take care of. WGmon flies away, and Dorumon takes his words to heart, feeling that he has a reason to live now that Tokomon is depending on him. Base self-worth gains a couple of points.
- Dorumon and Tokomon are found and attacked by the Royal Knight Omegamon, and rescued by WGmon and MetalGarurumon; however, Tokomon succumbs to its injuries. MGmon is destroyed and implants his X-Antibody into Tokomon to save the child in his last moments; witnessing this evokes the memory of Dorumon's encounter with Leomon, and Dorumon is again overwhelmed by the senselessness of the violence and death and evolves into Dorugamon to repel Omegamon. His resolve to live and to protect life is renewed; he gains confidence in the idea of living to pass on life to others.
- Doru(ga)mon is captured by the Royal Knights and taken to Yggdrasil, who pulls some code out of him to make a zombie dragon army, then he gets dropped in a junkyard and a ton of stuff happens while he's unconscious, involving zombie dragons being sent to wipe out the resistance.
- Doru(ga)mon wakes up and the zombies are killing everyone and he freaks out and evolves again and he looks like them holy shit NO DORUMON YOU WERE THE ZOMBIES. He has another moment of plummeting self-worth where he thinks that if he hadn't survived then everything would still be dandy, then resolves to put his new power to work instead of wallowing and starts beating up his look-alikes. Tokomon recognizes his expressions and greets him enthusiastically, making him feel better because he's still himself yaaaay
- The rogue Royal Knight Dukemon shows up and has a mid-battle conversation with Doru(grey)mon, in which Doru(grey)mon asks whether it's a bad thing that he's still alive (as his existence caused the whole...zombie problem.) Dukemon tells him that the will to live is natural and that he should go to Yggdrasil to find out why he exists; the answer gives Doru(grey)mon strength, as he's being told that he's worthy of going before the very master computer of the Digital World and that there is as much value in his life as in any other. Dukemon opens a passage to Yggdrasil's realm.
- Doru(grey)mon tries to go to Yggdrasil but is challenged by Omegamon, who is trying to come to terms with his own feelings vs. the Order Of Things he's trusted his whole existence in. He starts beating up Dorumon, who refuses to fight back because he does not believe Omegamon is his enemy; when his life is in danger, rather than striking back, Doru(grey)mon gathers his strength and evolves into Alphamon, who is this legendary Royal Knight who is famous for having never showed up to any meetings. Things get kind of weird here because Alphamon both is and isn't Dorumon, thanks to the bizarre way reality and identity work in the Digital World - Alphamon is its own entity with its own knowledge of what's going on, which was sort of hidden in Dorumon but never could have been accessed by him without evolving.
- ANYWAYS, Alphamon manages to pull rank on Omegamon and convinces him that Yggdrasil who is now just going nuclear option and destroying the world with zombies because its attempt to keep everything under control failed is way out of line and they need to see it in person to find out what the fuck.
- And then they get to Yggdrasil and try to ask it "man why you doing this" and they get no answer. Yggdrasil (who is a glass ball) is being protected by a monster that Alphamon realizes is his "other half", the data that was pulled out of him to make the zombies, which represents the "chose to lash out and hurt others to survive" path to Alphamon's "chose to value all life". Alphamon uses his final attack to destroy both himself and the monster, then gives his X-Antibody to Omegamon so he can stay alive long enough to attack Yggdrasil itself.
- Alphamon and the monster recombine and become Dorumon again, resetting their growth. Omegamon smacks Yggdrasil really hard, which....this part is actually super ambiguous and none of the characters are quite sure what happened, but I interpret it as Yggdrasil being destroyed and the Digital World recreating itself without it because of WILL TO LIVE because that seems to fit with the whole anti-authoritarian thing the movie's got going on. The Digital World is restored and is peaceful and Dorumon is reunited with Tokomon and everyone's happy.

List Three Powers You Would Like Your Character To Have:
- Ability to read/control digital devices on contact (Binary-based computer things, as though they were a part of him. May or may not include microprocessors.
Free soda from vending machines is totally a power.) - Magic circles (Mainly for defense. Circles formed on the ground generate a defensive barrier at their perimeter that Dorumon can selectively let people/things through; circles formed in the air or at odd angles are solid platforms that can be walked on. Size/effectiveness/duration limited by experience.)
- Crystal...Ouryuken (this thing is like six times his size, it would take extensive training of his powers for him to actually wield it and until then is a whole lot of dead weight, have fun kid.)
